OK, the gravitational pull of the Blue Moon was to much for me last night. I had to drag the camera and tripod out for what is another redundant moon shot. But, I did get to play with the TC-17e and 80-400mm at night so some valuable lessons came of it.
Bennington Battle Monument. The 50mm f/1.8D is quite a remarkable lens, for weighing only a few ounces and my purchasing it for $50 used. The corners are very strong when shooting stopped down... check out the stone texture along the edge in the full size.

The flower never opened again. Focusing in manual is a real bear. Does anyone use one of those after market focusing screens?
