@ttsisgood: ... that event always makes me wonder ....... how can belief be so strong that it ranks above innocent life ....... i can understand, being closely involved in counter-insurgency, how it is somewhat easy to target someone who is attacking you -- it is a 'do-or-die' situation ....... but something like this, i can't fathom ....
somewhat on a tangent, still related i think ......

Long time no see, again. One of the reasons I haven't been around is that we had a fire in our building, so we haven't been able to live in our flat for a bit over a month. That part kind of sucked. The good part of it was that I took a week off from work to go and stay at my mom's new place, where I tried my hand at some landscape photography for the first time.
I'll start off with some shots from the lake in the early morning (why do mornings have to happen so early anyway?). And yes, there will be some portraits from this location as well.
Not exactly the job any of us wants to do. I covered a funeral honoring a fallen Airman. Wonderful support from several Police departments and a magnificent escort. RIP young soldier...
Awesome work every one!! That was over 6 weeks since I post something to PAD, so here it is "Just a bee". D800|50mm f1.8 G Macro at f16| 1/50s | ISO800 | RRS TVC24 BH40
Not much of a view this way, but I was pleased to get a photo of my friend on the summit of Mt. Washington without any tourists or structures in the background. Hiker is Chickadee, a March 2nd start like me.

This is taken on Jeju Island, South Korea. The farmer was not at first pleased with me shooting near his property, but I eventually won him over telling him I loved his cows ^^
LOL those korean farmers do love their cows.. wasn't there a hit korean movie about a farmer and his cow or was it a bull?

In honor of a patient model :-) I´m struggling with off camera flash in a soft box. But if you want to learn - you got to do some experimenting :-) With family members starting to look tired when I ask them to model for yet another experiment I was in need of a willing model. This little trooper stepped in - thank you.
Main light mostly in place but for the ugly back ground - I can start adding some fill light. It is a lot of fun getting out of my comfort zone.
Still have a few more from the lake to share, so here's the next one. Taken a couple of minutes before the previous one. Btw, all the photos I'll post were taken with the Fuji X100S, so unfortunately no Nikon involved.
