Former North Korean Communist Labor Party Building located in Cheorwon. This building was used for numerous tortures and killings before the Korean War. Anyone who entered in police custody were very rarely ever was seen alive again. It still stands today despite bullet and mortar damage from the war. This hollow shell structure is now a National Heritage Site right near the DMZ about 25 kms from the North Korean border.
At the San Diego Zoo, they have a program where they match up a dog with each cheetah when they are both young. It helps keep the cheetah calm and happy.
A quick break from the self portraits. When I did the self portrait styled after the Game of Thrones images I knew my brother had the perfect look for it. I adjusted the lighting and edit a bit (thanks @PitchBlack for some tips!) I roped him in last night against his will and got this.
In an effort to evolve more creatively this year I'm planning to try a few different things. Here's a composite that I've been playing around with and thought it was time to stop. The model (co-worker) was photographed sitting on a concrete bench with the Nikkor 85mm f/1.4 so the background was smooth bokeh but uninteresting. The background was photographed on a separate outing but in the same general area. She liked the idea but wished that her expression was a bit sweeter.
This is the path along the waterfront a block from my condo in downtown Vancouver. This was actually just the "snapshot" and the shot that I put the effort into did not include the lawn on the lower left. However, looking on screen, I decided that it balances the image better and chose this one.
Perhaps I should have shot one 10 feet to the right and seen how that looked?

To my taste the position is exactly right. Maybe just show the entire width of the pathway. What I like about the position is, that the viewer gets dragged diagonal into the picture starting from the lower left corner. Jürgen

I would have moved forward to crop out the grass portion and start with the path leading into the picture starting lower right corner and the coast-line moving from lower right until it splits the top side 1/3-2/3. I would show the almost full width of the path at the start, I think the path would make a good subject.
Stone house in Northern Frederick County, Maryland.
I took the dog for a hike to find an overlook, and after an extremely uninspiring view from said overlook decided to drive around a bit and stumbled across this neat stone house.
