To me it looks like a very properly placed flash with some possible light "modification/direction" going on.

msmoto, I'm guessing we're seeing the reflection of a flash.

Very damp day today in the Lake District so only took the Sony RX10 with me. Great camera that even though it has a 1 inch sensor with f/2.8 24- 200mm range, I can gt the camera in my inside pocket of my coat.

I figured you were trying to hide the flash bounce back from the center of the bulb. Okay, you were trying to replicate that the bulb was turned on.

Odd, I wasn't able to sign in at all yesterday and most of today until now. Well I worked up some courage to ask a stranger to allow me to take a photo of his car and he had NO problems with it. I'm definitely going to try to do stuff like that more often. Although I wish I had used my 50mm to take some of the background out. Oh well, a lesson learned.

@Pierre…. you win. I used an LED flashlight to paint the area, avoiding harsh shadows and getting the bulb to appear lighted.
