I'm calling this one Confession I'm a newbie so feedback is always appreciated!
Good shot. Looks like you referenced the level of the image to the steps? Try to get your verticals near the centre of the shot nice and vertical, the verticals near the edges can be off due to lens perspective distortion and the horizontals can be off because you are not square on, but if you get the centre verticals right, the image looks right.
I recently purchased my first ever camera (the lovely d7100). This is the first RAW picture I have edited with lightroom so feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Congratulations. Try cropping out some of the right left and top and see what you get. You should not chop her feet like that, though try cropping further up. Not on a joint is a standard rule.
You may also want to consider buying the 35mm 1.8. This will be a really good standard lens in low light for you. If you like portraits, consider one of the 50mm FX lenses. Both are fairly reasonable in price.
This is from my first set of shots with the 35mm F/1.8. Love this lens! I'm a newbie so any feedback is always appreciated!
learning DSLR with D7100 18-105mm and 35mm F/1.8. I also love my little Nikon Coolpix AW100! flickr.com/photos/115637741@N02/ imagesbypam.tumblr.com/ and driveby-shooting.tumblr.com/
very nice shot Noxin. The person on the path to the left makes the picture imho.
Thanks and I totally agree. I was very lucky in my timing as it was fairly crowded and there wasn't much time when that person was the only person there, and about 3 seconds later she left.
My first street walk with the d800 and 70-200 2.8. It was heavy but ill build some muscles soon. 70mm cropped in post at f8.
I wanted to get a scene across the street but traffic stopped and the biker became my subject. I didn't even look at the viewfinder I sorta just guessed it as I looked up when traffic had stopped.
Today it is my son's turn and he picked this one I took of him. He is using the J3 and 1 Nikkor AW 10mm F/2.8 that is in my signature. They are really his.
D800, AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.4G, ISO 3200, 85mm, f/2.8, 1/40 sec Hmmmm......how did I end up with 1/40th a second at f/2.8 on a f/1.4 lens? I am scratching my head on this one.
I've been dropping hints and innuendos for some time about how we needed a new 70-200mm f2.8 lens. About how many steaks a big white had bought us over the years and so on. And about how photos of all the exotic birds we have nesting here now would look fine on her crafty work. Well she solved the problem her way. She just brought a bird to me that didn't need 3k in glass... I think it is a "Dollar Tree Leghorn".
Mine for today. Shot in the Pearl Islands off the coast of Panama. I'd never seen so many magnificent frigate birds at once. D800 | 300mm | f/2.8 | 1/640s | ISO 2000

While you say it is not one of the pro bodies, from the image no one could tell the difference. Beautiful detail in the full size version. Great work.
