I'm excited for the next meet up and hope I can make it work. Looking forward to hearing the possible options!

I'm excited for your trip to Hungary and Poland too Ali! I'm sure you are going to have an amazing time. I just finished a course on the history of photography and learned about Andre Kertesz, a Hungarian photographer whose street work in Paris and NY are amazing. Henri Cartier-Bresson paid some amazing tributes to him. Anyhow, I'm going on...! Have a blast!

@Msmoto & @Golf007sd - about 1 year ago there were lots of suggestions about where to hold our next get together and I proposed Hocking HIlls, Ohio. This state park is about 40 minutes south of Columbus, Ohio. There was some interest and as I recall I posted a photo or two. It's a beautiful place in the Spring, Summer, and Fall.

So my Popular Photography, Feb, issue arrived last week and I started reading it last night and discovered that the Mentor Series is doing a Photo Workshop there in June, 2015. Check out pages 18 & 19 for some terrific photos of the park.

So of course, here is the link to the Itinerary:
    http://www.mentorseries.com/treks/2015/ohio-hocking-hills-2015

I am suggesting that you Moderators take a look at the photos and Itinerary. We could easily do their day two activities over two days and check out Buckeye Lake and other areas.

Having lived on the NW side of Columbus for 14 years and having visited Hocking Hills State Park 6 to 7 times, it's a terrific place for photographs. There are several hotels that are minutes from the entrance of the state park or you can stay in C'Bus, about 40 minutes away.

These are my favorite places to photograph at Hocking Hills:
Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, largest cave in the state, Old Man's Cave, Devils Bath, and Conkle Hollow.

If your still looking for a site for this year or next year, I highly recommend Hocking Hills.

Note, C'Bus is a regional airport with connecting flights to Chicago O'Hare, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Detroit, Washington Dullis, NYC, Philadelphia, Boston, Denver, Phoenix, and Dallas. So airplane connections are not a problem.

Although I moved from C'Bus to Wisconsin 3 years ago, I would make the trek to Hocking Hills. It's a beautiful area in the late spring to middle summer and then of course, in the fall your get the great tree colors. In the spring and early summer the water flowing at Ash Cave and in the Devils Bath make for exciting images.

Finally, you can take the 2nd day Mentor Series Itinerary and use that as your model to photograph these places of beauty. Of course, only the locals know that Ash Cave must be photographed in the morning and then again late in the day. The light is totally different.

You now have my nickel for visiting Hocking Hills State Park, Ohio.

This sounds very interesting, however, I rarely attend seminars of other photographers, unless they are folks I know and there is no charge.

The venue may be very interesting, especially if there is an RV park associated with it.

That is my recommendation, is we do this on our own, not be part of the Mentor Series. And yes, there are more than one RV parks in this area. There is lots to see and you can do as little or as much walking as you like.

The food is inexpensive in this area. For those wanting big city food, there is always Columbus.

Happy March 1st all! May warmer weather bless us northerners, shivering under ice for so long! :)
@Golf007sd I hope you had a fantastic trip! I'd love to hear some highlights/see some of your images!
Is there any news about possible meet-ups? It may be a long shot that I make it, but I do like to dream. :)
    Cheers!

The "rumor" is that this years get together will be on the western end of the US. Maybe later in the summer or early fall. Of course, i would pick the outer banks of North Carolina or St Augustine, Florida. But, we have had this last year in Maine, so it certainly sounds appropriate to go out west for this year.

And, I think I picked Colorado and Maine so my choices are sort of used up....LOL

If certain things work out this is always a possibility. I usually get to South Dakota once a year. A "mini-get together" could be done.

That would be nice. Are you aware of the Big Car show in Deadwood in August 20 -23rd? Never have been there but have been told it's terrific.

Thanks for the tip @Msmoto! Nice to know. Later in the year is looking better for me now as springtime commitments are starting to add up. I'll watch for details! Maine was great last year, so I'd be very happy if I can join once again. Cheers!
