The chain link fence in the background doesn't help the ambiance, but that's what is there now after the former Fort Payne replica was damaged in a fire last year.

Well I made the decision to sell my D800. It was a love/hate relationship from the start and unfortunately the relationship turned more and more sour. I picked up a D3s in replacement and had a shoot this weekend on the beach in harsh sun. Certainly a new challenge for me, but hot damn is the D3s a performer!
Grant Tetons Yellowstone, 2013 A favorite of Ansel Adams, the Grand Tetons are one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in North America. This picture is taken from the balcony of the Jackson Lake Lodge. The distant forest on the lowland is significantly closer to the lodge than the mountains, which helps one appreciate the scale.

Experimenting with image stacking and star trails. This is 58 30-second exposures. Using StarStax software with the "Comet" setting for novelty.
