The very last photo that I edited from the set that I've been working on. The flowers are orange, the background is green, her eyes are blue but it wasn't until I converted it to grayscale that I was pleased with the vision. Funny how that works sometimes.
Stunning Rob. I've really enjoyed this sequence. I find that often when we take color out of the equation and let texture take over the results can be awesome. Mine for today. A 9-image stack. D800 | 105mm | f/10 | 1/60s | ISO 100
March 7th - While driving back to Virginia from Georgia, we stopped in Asheville, NC. A few 2013 hikers live there, and one of them was able to get lunch with us as we passed through. Frost, center, was the other 2013 hiker who carried a D800 and put together some stunning videos. By some odd chance - and there have been enough of those by now that I'm not too surprised - the only other person sitting outside the cafe was another thru-hiker. He was a 1999 thru-hiker with the trail name Tree, right of Frost. He had a longer tree-related trail name, something about climbing trees, but when he finally fell out of a tree it was just truncated to 'Tree'.

Dreshad: I just checked your flicker account. You have the eye of an artist, something which cannot be taught, one either has it or doesn't. Keep shooting and trying new things: your artist's eye will expand.
The 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 is not too bad on the D600.
Because 400mm handheld is still difficult for me. I practice BIF with this lens and the D600 set on 1.5 crop. Just to see if it is usefull for me to buy a new lens.
I saw this.
