Challenging (for me) to get a reasonably sharp image with the slower shutter speeds needed to get prop motion, and with the frequent spinning motions of the aircraft. Had a lot of throwaways in that regard.

Going to try to resume posting here regularly. First shot in a while for me is my view of Niagara Falls at twilight, on the first day of my attempted thru-hike from Niagara Falls to the Gulf of Mexico.

Well, I am back from a couple weeks on the road, so now a few from Historic Route 66 in the USA. There seems to be a tendency in the USA to discard our past, but some of us are into hanging on. Route 66 was built in the 1920's and was one of the first hard surface highways from Chicago to Los Angeles, uniting the country by automobile over nearly 4,000 km of road. I drove this in 1965 from St. Louis to LA, when it was two lanes, but as wide as four in many places. So, photos...
This Osprey decided I was a friend and was able to get about 25 feet away. Spent about 45 minutes with her until a few hikers came along with their dog and scared her off 1Dm4, 500 F4 +1.4x at 700mm, F6.3, 1/500th, ISO 800
The Conservation Trail, a spur of the Finger Lakes Trail, is not really a trail for the most part but a suggestion of a trail. It runs from the Finger Lakes Trail to Niagara Falls. On Grand Island it was a combination of bike paths and road walks. Here it leaves Grand Island on the South Grand Island Bridge.
