Just received the Black Friday Z5 flyer from Nikon USA: it's now $200 in "Instant Savings", so $100 cheaper than Nikon USA has ever sold the D750 for. Compared with the D750, you're trading an OVF, 2 fps, top-mounted LCD screen, and on-camera flash for an EVF, smaller/lighter body, IBIS, eye-detect AF, phase-detect AF for video, touch screen, DX 4K30p with heavy rolling shutter, Snapbridge (now much improved), and significantly fewer stills per battery charge. This deal is getting sweeter every day, isn't it? OTOH, Nikon USA is selling the Z6 at $400 over the Z5 now, so there.
It's a tough sell, the Z6 is $200 more than a Z5 (both on sale) here. The deciding factor of course could be what memeory cards you have already. If you have a bunch of fast SDHC/SDXC cards, go Z5, if you have XQD/CFe go Z6.
If I take a good photo it's not my camera's fault.
Z6ii £1739 Z5 £1049 Z6 1149 Z7 1739 D850 £1979 all from same supplier The Z7ii is going to come in at £ 2700 but would anyone buy a Z6 orZ7 at the moment ?

If a z6 is cheeper or close in price to a z5 due to sales or the like, it is a much better buy. I would buy a second z6 over a z5 any day. Z6ii is the way to go just now though, markably better performance and a grip.
BTW, the Nikon USA Z5 body-only is below $1K now, which is a more natural price to compete against Canon and Sony if they keep their respective RP and A7II body-only prices at $800 during the next sale events.
No doubt it's very affordably priced, unfortunately there are currently no affordable native lenses to go with it, apart from a discounted 24-70/4 (I don't consider the 24-50 kit lens to be affordable at $300). Whish 3rd parties ported their offerings to Z mount already, especially Samyang with their 18/2.8, 35/1.8, and 75/1.8.
