Thanks for the test pixel shift shots Donald. I'm still on the old firmware on my Z 8 though I plan to upgrade soon. For my use, I'm more excited about the 2.0 improvements other than PS. I have 30"x40" prints on my walls made from crops of some of my D800e shots which I'm quite happy with. I'm content at 45MP so far.
Meanwhile, it is still winter here... And the Z 8 is working great in this sort of weather.
Maybe you should consider a Z8 instead of a Z6III although I suspect the Z6III will also have pixel shift but it will be about 96 instead of 180 mp for the resultant image. Yet, you can get to about 100mp through Topez Photo AI anyway. Yes, now that I see what can be done I am tempted to take a large file and have it printed by a local shop that has a printer which prints on roll paper 5 or 6 feet wide (don't remember exactly). Then I would have to figure out how to mount such a huge print and were to put it! Just cannot find the use case for such large prints. Too bad I am not famous and some art museum wants to make a huge print show of my work. LOL
Have it printed on canvas that can be stretched or mounted to a thin board material coated with gesso. Do a small say 16 x 20 on canvas first an stretch it on bars and fame. I love printing on canvas for the art look. Canvas is not for pixel peeping but for the pure drama it can bring to a landscape print. It's not for every one but for myself it is all I want on my walls. An now you do have me thinking Z8.
We have a 30x40 canvas triptych on a wall at home. It was printed from a 12mp file from a Panasonic P&S. Strangely enough the low resolution combined with the canvas medium gives it a decidedly “painted” look. It tends to draw approving comments from visitors who want to know how it was done.
I’ve done a couple of others from the same camera with similar results. I quite like the effect.
Yes, great shot Larry. tell us about that post the bird is on. Is that part of the setting you built to attract birds to your deck? Also, "Have it printed on canvas that can be stretched or mounted to a thin board material coated with gesso. Do a small say 16 x 20 on canvas first an stretch it on bars and fame. " Please explain in more detail please. I have made two poster size canvas prints from my photos but I don't know about this glesso you are talking about. I don't know about mounting on a thin board. These two are stretched over a wooden frame and stapled to that frame. You can see the two canvas prints I made in this photo. {the 15mm lens stretched the seats of the chairs too much.}
The bluebird on snow is on a set that I built. He is almost point blank range to me. No farther that 16-18' away. He is sitting on a short piece of birch long with some pine limb trimmings attached to it.
This little fledgling bluebird looking around taking everything in for the first time reminded me of a line in an old song. "What's it all about Alfie".
Great shot. Is that on one of your set ups? Checked stats on flckr. I didn't think that lens was that sharp. Tack sharp! I also didn't think it could produce such creamy bokeh. Thought you would need an f2.8 lens to do that. Quite impressive.
Week old Valentine's Day flowers shot with 16 year old Nikon D700 with over 124,000 shutter actuations I purchased for $225.00. Old can still be adequate.

The tree looked a bit like I felt.

Red-eye flyer.
Been a while since I posted. Here's something from nearly six years ago.
