Heya folks - reached Harpers Ferry and moved up to around Harrisburg, PA for logistical reasons. I have walked about 1,035 miles of the Appalachian Trail so far. Here's a shot of some other thru-hikers from the Wayah Bald lookout tower.

@Pickerel, it is hard for me to comprehend what a 1000 mile walk in the mountains is, me I get tired after just a few. How much is left?


This was taken by my friend Louis on his D7000 on one of the rare time he had it in his hand. He had lost it multiple times for oil splash servicing, months in a row each time and never had it in time for his vacation travels. Too bad I could not convinced him to post on PAD, I find he is such a good artist with a unique view who is not afraid of trying crazy stuff.

I wish there was less vegetation in the foreground, but I was in a real rush.

Had never seen this in person...but it's all part of the alligator love story.. This male is making an ultrasonic sound in his lungs too low for human detection. This sound in turn causes his back spikes to vibrate and thus the waves and leaping fountains. What girl could refuse that!

A very quick pano of Nats Park from the just in front of the right field bullpen. Stiched together with Hugin. I need to figure out how to make the output file bigger, and I need to crop or clone out the spot in the upper right where the butterfly hood apparently slipped. All in all, not bad, I think, for a major rush.
