PitchBlack: Great image, great color (as was your last one). What Picture Controls setting do you use? Or are ou shooting early in the morning and late in the day to get the warm colors?
@PitchBlack, you can get adapters for old manual lenses to mount them on many of the mirrorless cameras, particularly the micro-4/3 and NEX cameras. I've done that with a micro-4/3 and it is pretty fun to use the old lenses. You could put that f/1.2 to use!
@PitchBlack, have seen your polo web site and Facebook, very nice portfolio. I would love knowing more about your techniques, especially how you obtain those rich deep tones. @SquamishPhoto very sweet portraits, your models are all lovely.
Checking in briefly... a couple days home to try uploading many photos. While that gets started, here's one from mid-March. My first night hike up the trip was on a below-freezin night, going over 5250-foot Albert Mountain so I could keep myself warmer than if I was staying put at shelter. Shot was with the camera flush against the fire tower, pinned there by my body. I didn't realize the dust on my sensor was so bad so early on... I really have to do something about that, as it has only gotten worse especially when stopped down to f/11. Wonder where around New Jersey I can get a sensor cleaning.
In spite of heavy rain, the southeastern section of South Dakota is still under a mild to moderate drought condition. The rain is too much for the soil to absorb, thus it is destroying the very crops which depend upon it.

I got a shutter speed of 1/640th and I was surprised it barely stopped motion in the wings.
