@itsnotmeyouknow: A friend of mine just got himself the 70-200 F/4 and is loving it as well. Looking forward in testing it out personally in the week or so. He preferred the collar of my 70-200 2.8 more however. I told him to call RRS and get their version (LC-A12). Ooh your subject is very well behaved and like to smile as well.

Fresh off a 29 day holiday in South Africa and barely scratching the surface of the 6,000 photos I shot while there. Here's a fish eagle on the St. Lucia Estuary in KZN. I was a bit slow on shutter speed (1/640th) but this is barely cropped and shot handheld on a moving boat D4 w/ VR70-200/2.8+1.7TC-III
Great shot...and yes, I see the pilot. He is calling the tower and letting them know you are there. They do this anytime they see a long lens pointed their direction.
Wow I missed a lot of great shots... I visited a Raptor rehab center today. Had almost no light to work with. If anyone is interested in A place called hope, info is on my flickr page. Really had to push the D300 and Tokina.. D300 * Tokina 300 F2.8 * ISO 1600 * F2.8 * 1/125th handheld...
Took some photos in the park of an old castle in our village. This boy cycling to school became easy prey for a candid shot. I quite like the pattern of the castle wall. Jürgen

The airport security probably got tired of having to deal with people all over the place, the solution? Creats a park near the strip with benches, security cams, floral arrangment, cut grass, parking space, garbage cans, large plates with historical annecdotes for gazers and photographers. There was a couple dozens of us that day.
I had the opportunity to shoot the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross High Point National Race last weekend. Shooting for a local paper covering a local rider in his professional debut. I'll be at the Budd's Creek National this weekend for some more action. For those that follow MX the rider in this photo will be very familiar.
