Color version. I was going to convert to Bnw but I clicked on the wrong Nik plugin and decided to try something new. I like both color and bnw but this version to me is better only slightly.
tts, I knew it was only a matter of time before someone shot a cicada.
This is one I took in the Galapagos a few years back. It's a newborn oyster catcher, probably no more than a day or two old. For the longest time I've tried to reprocess this to help it pop out of the background a little more, but finally I just gave in last night and made the picture instead about camouflage.

Coastal, awesome facial expression. And Squamish, love this model, especially without the green hair.
We had some crazy early evening light on the water the other night. I'm wondering if this might have been better with a longer focal length. And Beso, you are correct; that is cottonwood "cotton" on the water and in the air. It's that time of year here in VT.
D90 | 24-70 | 70mm | f/7.1 | 1/320s | ISO 400 Slight crop for composition purposes
Inspired by Michael_Erlewines book about focusstacking I checked if there's a lens with back-focusing in my drawer. There is - the 24/1.4 does the same thing but this were only 40 shots with f/2.5

@SquamishPhoto you have to tell us how you find all these beauties.
Hope not boring you yet...
