My today's submission: "the Old Man and the street" ...
I was on a camping/bird photography trip in the Himalayas this June; while passing through the small village of Pangot, we decided to sit awhile and have a cup of tea. There was a game of "street-cricket" underway in the village and this old gentleman was thoroughly enjoying it from the sidelines. I took this with the "birding" 500 mm lens as I didn't want to spoil the spontaneity of his reactions ...

Superb Capt Bane. Great facial expression. Shot on the hike to the top of Squaw Valley. These kids were playing on a rope swing over an embankment. Due to the angles and a little creative cropping, this looks much more extreme than it is.

This was shot above the North Branch of the Yuba River near Nevada City, CA last week. I love that the water is so clear that you can see so much detail of the riverbed.

Used the dynamic contrast and detail extractor (on the riverbed only) filters in Color Efex.

Wow, really nice, crisp clean water!

No, they were not fishing rods, they were the bamboo handles of barbeque skewers.
