Dominant Goose: taken yesterday with Nikon V1 cropped and enlarged 270 percent to 4k x 4k pixels using 300mm F4 shot at 1/2000 at ISO 360.

Nikon V1 + FT1 + TC14 + N70-200/2.8vrII - borrowed the camera from my wife. IMHO, great for stills, not as good for rest. Effective focal length 756mm.

@adamz - I'm not familiar with the mirrorless cameras like the V1, how does the TC14+70-200vrII = 756mm? The detail is actually quite good, or so it appears, in the smaller version on this page.

Didn't realize the V1's CX sensor had a crop factor of 2.7. Wow. Forget the D4, I'm buying a V2 and lots of "extras"

(kidding) But picking up a used V1+FT1+Tokina 11-16 for hairy situations (in a tube, behind a boat on the lake, shooting wakesurfers) would feel a lot less risky if I could get the quality you are getting with that V1 setup.

forget the V2 - sure You get more MPx with V2 but You are loosing backward compatibility with batteries, V1 uses the same batt as D800 and the iso is better (at least according to DXO)

Mine for today. This is just some of what you'll see in Petra if you venture beyond the well known Treasury. It took me a bit, but I was able to isolate the woman in black clothing for scale.
