So far so good in Colorado. Hit a few cities today: Fort Collins & Longmont.
While I'm staying in Longmont, tomorrow I will be heading out to Bolder, CO. If anyone want to join me send me a PM with a contact number and we will go from there.
Had a nice day today in Denver ZOO and at the Wild Animal Sancturary... not to mention a great evening with Golf007sd... was so nice to finally meet You in real
@adamz: It is was a pleasure to see you as well...specially the long day you had. Tomorrow...correction later today, is going to be even better. See you in a few hours to continue our adventure. Cheers

The meeting was AWESOME. Lots of pics to follow. Sadly I was unable to stay to get my hands on the 800mm. But the lovely msmoto was kind enough and allowed me to mount my D4 on her amazing 400 2.8 and play with it for a bit. Moreover, she even let me mount it on my RRS setup. Needless to say the blood was flowing....ooooh what a feeling
That said, this adventure of ours was not without tragedy. The photo below say it all. This unfortunate accident happened on the night I meet Adamz. Please send some love his way. As far as how it all happened...I will leave it up to him to elaborate. He did, however take to heart my recommendations in getting two items to prevent such actions from happening again (hopefully) in the foreseeable future.
And for the record he offered me a great price on a D800 he had access too :P

Here is a photo of what msmoto looked like each time I handed her my D4 while she looked to adjust my ISO setting :P Her rule for most portrait photography is not to use a shutter speed no less than 1/160...look's like Ben did not get that memo

It was great to meet Ms Moto and Adamz and let them collectively drool on my Nikon 800 mm F/ 5.6 this morning. We had a great meal and many tall tales were told. Just wait for next year..
PM me if you are interested in doing some joint shooting. Might let you give the 800 a whack.. Adamz was pretty gassed and he even checked out the 1.25 teleconverter..
Thanks to everyone who made it to the first NRF meeting. I really enjoyed it and I am looking forward to next year. Special thanks to Msmoto who was the driving force behind this meeting. Here is a quick iPhone snapshot of Adam trying to handheld the 800mm f/5.6 lens:

Denver Shooter
Would have been nice to add additional unwanted liquids to your 800mm....after all we have to test the seal to make sure it is water proof.
And for the record...our Command and Control Center kicked ass. If you are wondering what it looked like...well here it is:
D4 24-70 2.8 1/100 ISO 200 @ f/7.1
D4 24 1.4G 1/100 ISO 8000 @ f/2.5
Sorry I missed you.

Handholding you say....hmm....is it the angle of the shot or do I see him trying to use his knee as a tripod :P
