I'll be glad if someone could name me this mountains. This picture was taken on the way to Sand Dunes national park near Alamosa, CO. I belive it's the Twin Peaks range, though I'm not 100% sure.
Totally agree with all the comments about the quality of the picture here, it's been a fantastic year start.
Taken in morning on the south coast of the Gaspésie peninsula, looking eastward at New-Brunswick north coast. If you zoom-in, you will see an industrial chimney with its smoke that nicely contrast against the dramatic sky.
Crappy weather and lack of birds found me staring at this lady today. About the best I can muster at ISO 3200 on the D7100 with the Sigma 150-500. Can't wait to get my 120-300 F2.8 back.
This was one of the first shots I took with my new RRS tripod. It is on my patio overlooking English Bay with the historic Sylvia Hotel in the foreground.
This is also one of the few images in my collection that I have cropped to remove the ugly side buildings. I am trying to avoid cropping to discipline myself on composition. However, in this case, I had only three options:
1. Buy the new 58mm. 2. Zoom with my feet. 3. Crop.
Usually, I just choose #2, but in this case, that would likely be suicidal. I will eventually choose #1, but in the meantime will have to settle for #3.
PS: Pitchblack, it is always a treat to see your pictures. Keep them coming.
Shot this after a long hike to a gorgeous waterfall. For the first 10 minutes, I focused entirely upstream, thinking that the shot was the water falling off the cliff. Then, for some reason, I turned around and realized that the real shot was the light coming through the forest canopy, refracted by the mist created by the waterfall. I think this includes California Peak and the Twin Peaks. The "other side of the Twin Peaks" is here
