Went out last night looking for the much anticipated Northern Lights that were was supposed to be visible as far South as NYC. It didn't arrive but may be visible tonight. Shot a few photos just to check settings.
Mine for today. We were traveling through a mangrove swamp by zodiac through the Golf Dulce in Costa Rica and pretty much getting skunked in terms of wildlife sightings. As the light was fading, our zodiac driver spotted this three-toed sloth above us in the tree. To get the shot I had lie flat on my back on the floor of the boat. I shot dozens of sloths over the week, but this was the only one where I caught a glimpse of the face. The rest looked like balls of coarse fur. D800 | 300 + TC1.4 | f/4 | 1/160s | ISO 800 | -1/3 EV
Item on the CBS evening news: Lots of snowy owls along the east coast. Coastal Conn, can you get to the Boston Airport? We don't have any yet, had some last year.
Emilia. Shot with the D800 & the Nikon 85/1.4 @ 5.6. I missed the focus. It's on the rear eye when it should be on the front, but I liked everything else about it so I let it slide.
"should be". Seriously? I took a closer look at the shot on your site. What you have done, perhaps by accident, is produce a wonderful dream-like quality with that softer focus on the 'center'. She seems to be deep in thought and you get lost in her right eye. The only problem I have with it, is that I can only +1 once.
Man, I hate you. I wish I could shoot as well as your 'mistakes'.
