Hey everyone. My name is Jason and I love photography and videography. I am just getting started on YouTube with reviews and unboxing videos. I love Nikon and my first Nikon digital camera was a Coolpix model that I got back in 2003. That camera started the bug, I am glad to join this forum and look forward to commenting and enjoying the community.
Hi, I'm a new member from The Netherlands. Working with a D800, start shooting Fieldhockey for a year. Previous years always active in photography: events and art reproductions. The first camera was a Minolta, then for some years used a Canon but now it is becoming more professional, I am very pleased with my Nikon and the lenses. Good stuff! My name is Bob Brockel and I recently joined NRF after lurking for a while. I'm from Westminster, Colorado and am relatively new to DSLR. I started about 3 years ago with an Olympus point-n-shoot to take pics of my model railroad projects and my 67 Ford Fairlane GT. Then I moved to a Nikon D3100 and now I have a D7100. While my image interests mainly fall into landscape, wildlife and night/stars categories, I like all facets of picture taking. I hope to learn and be able to contribute to NRF with the fine photographers here on the forum.
Hi there! I am Tom from Austria. I am a very ambitious hobby photographer for quite some time now and Nikon Rumors is one of the rumor sites I regulary visit. So I thought registering in the forum is a good idea :-)
I use a Nikon D750 with a couple of Tamron SP lenses and I am very happy with this lineup!
Recently I also started a blog about my photographic journey (travelreports, locationreports, short picture gallerys, gear reviews, etc...) which you find here: tommay|photography. Take a look if you like! :-)
I'm looking forward to many discussions and I hope I can bring in some useful Infos!
Hello Everybody. Retired academic from TN -- I picked up photography as a hobby, and it's threatening to take over. I wanted to register with NR because every time I look for information on the web, this site provides answers.
Greetings fellow shutter bugs, AcierX here from Mechanicsburg, PA area. Always been a NR fan and use it as a resource so thought it was about time I joined. Looking forward to being a part of the community. Thanks.
Hello everyone. My name is Jeffrey and I Iive in southern California USA. I shoot mostly medium format cameras but recently switched in my limited DSLR shooting from Canon to Nikon by purchasing a D810. What a wonderful camera that is so darn easy to shoot. I'm still becoming familiar with the menus but it all makes sense. I shoot mostly landscapes. I was inspired to make the switch to Nikon by Michael Melford who shoots for Nat Geo. Looking forward to sharing learning curve experiences with everyone on this forum. All the best!
Welcome Jeffrey, Always good to have folks with medium format experience. Maybe at some point you can give a few examples of your experience between the D810 and your medium format shots.
I just bought a Nikon D300 with an 18-135mm f1.3-5.6 DX lens from a friend. So far, I'm really liking it. I'm looking forward to learning more about the camera and about digital photography here. I'm joining the photo a day discussion and will think of something, hopefully cool, to upload each day. I'm looking forward to getting to know the forum too.
My nickname given to me by my now deceased uncle is "flip" and if you have ever read DIckens' Great Expectation, you can also call me Pip.
My first published image was a full page in Audubon magazine in 1986 and I have sold a number of images to Audubon and Sierra calendars, was published in a number of books on wildlife. wrote articles for magazines with my images on diverse subjects as wild orchids and special preservation sites in NJ and PA. I shifted to 4x5 color film and sold many prints over the years to Bristol Myer Squibb and other institutions and many prints to collectors.
I moved to the D800 2 years ago after Velvia 50 4x5 was discontinued in the US, though I still occasionally shoot Velvia 100 4x5. Due to family issues my "career" moved into low gear for almost 8 years and I finally moved back into shooting images again when I purchased a used D300 4 years ago. I would have moved to Hasselblad with the TS converter as a substitute for 4x5 but for the cost.
I am also a Leica phile and enjoy what a light rangefinder has to offer.
My focus is mostly nature abstract work, landscapes and birds when the opportunity arises. I still use MF long tele's with both Nikon cameras which suit my style just fine. Nikon is improving its lens offerings with reduced abberations and greater sensitivity to digital sensors. Overall been shooting for more than 24 years and love every second I am outdoors hiking and looking for that next abstract or different perspective.
A number of my 4x5 images are posted at Large Format Photography forum as I have been a member since 2011.
Hello, I have dropped in on occasion, and decided it was time to join and introduce myself. I am from a little town in Kentucky and took up photography a year ago last October. I started with a D3200 and just bought a D7200 last month and I love it. I really enjoy photography. I am retired and I try to shoot every day. Look forward to getting to know you all. God Bless.
