I was walking in the woods around my house in the wintertime and stumbled upon this hanging on a branch. The snow was coming down light and in the grayness of the day this let off an eerie aura. I had my camera so I took a snap, thinking in the back of my head, something bad happened here sometime ago. (not that I am superstitious or anything, was just very atmospheric)
Good guess! I've been working at Southern Methodist University all this week. Dorm move-in is next week. Not sure whether these washers were inbound or at the end of their cycles. Thought it was an interesting juxtaposition.
Thank you Hval. So I shoot these against a black background that's usually five feet behind the subject, using a ring flash. My set up is a hack of what the photographer profiled here (http://www.nikonusa.com/en/Learn-And-Explore/Article/h91fgucv/techniques-flower-power.html#! uses, although not nearly as expensive and elaborate. Unfortunately, my results aren't as good as his either (but that probably isn't due to the set up).
It's been a while since I posted (had to get my family moved from Indy to Memphis) but I'm back and got my camera out a couple of weeks ago. I just set up my new desktop so I thought I would share a photo. " />

That has got to be student accommodation. May I ask where? Are those washing machines coming, or going?
They could be used in Dr. Who programme.
Cheers,
Hval
