This is the super moon from Sunday. A little hazier than I would have liked, which muted some of the details, but the color is spectacular (and not altered). D800 | 300mm + TC20 | f/5.6 | 1/100s | ISO 400
I made a dumb technical mistake with this series of shots. Immediately prior, I was in a challenging light situation where I had set the ISO to 1,000, but then forgot to change it back. Luckily, it is difficult to discern a negative impact on image quality. Thank you D800!!!
My first attempt playing with photo editing software..
This is what has made animal photography a passion of mine. I stood about 30 yards away from this incredible creature and the size of these animals is astonishing. They could easily run you over or trounce you in a matter of seconds. But watching this incredibly powerful creature act "scared" to cross a little runoff area of the Colorado River showed the beautiful juxtaposition of nature.
This is kind of what I call a what if shot. Now if I just had a few models to play the roll of a couple that had just broken up (one on either side, facing away from each other), I'd like this one even more...
