This is my teaser. Please meet Amaryllis Minerva. Flowers are not just spring summer and fall. Every Winter my wife buys two Amaryllis and I use the blooms to work on my macro work and lightning technique.

Every Amaryllis starts small and grows to different height. This first Amaryllis only got to 10" and the blooms were about 5" diameter. The second Amaryllis is a Minerva and ours are 26" tall with 7+" diameter blooms. The Minerva last significantly longer too. So for most of the month your going to see the progression from bulb to a beautiful flower. Tomorrow I am going to the release of 12 Bald Eagles so don't be surprised if you see some bird and Bald Eagle images between the Amaryllis images. After a few images I switched to my macro lens and a tripod, but first I wanted to see how the 24-70mm would preform.

I walked past these folks taking their break in the alley between two buildings. I popped my head around the corner hoping to get a candid, but the one girl noticed me so they all looked my way.

    I still like the shot.

Saw this on a bathroom break during classes. It was some of the most dramatic lighting I've seen.

    More cool lighting.

Some of the coolest photography is the type that doesn't take any effort.

Honestly, who doesn't? :-) My Hasselblad 500CM is my go-to film camera. I normally go to the 35mm when I don't have an equivalent medium format focal length lens, But like her, I also have a Rolleiflex 2.8E that still produces beautiful images 60+ years on (1953 vintage)
