@proudgeek: Great shot. Awesome description. Never go on a trip without the big guns. @PitchBlack: I can see the snow falling...adds a nice touch to the setting.

OK, the glitch on yesterday's image was the original was underexposed slightly as I did not compensate for the backlight. And blacks in shade can easily have no detail. Today's bird, a bit better:
I just got home from a trip to my mom's in NE Kansas. This is my first go-around with an HDR shot using Photomatix Pro 5. It's a combination of 10 images. Kinda fun, but I've just scratched the surface with the software...
Not a photo I'd normally edit & post. But I was definitely inspired by @Golf007sd and @Proudgeek. This was shot extremely early, the elk was not the primary focus. Brought him more into focus with Post and kept the "surrounding" golden light.
Oh, those flowers and trees make me feel so warm right now! I shot this photo on New Year's day at 0 degrees F, ran across wolf tracks on the ski trail, a small pack of 4-5 wolves in the area. Packer Meadows, Clearwater National Forest:
One of the first shots with my new D750, much thanks to @Hammie for lending me the 50mm f/1.8D D750 | 50mm f/1.8D | f/2 | 1/40 sec | ISO 1000 Used my iPhone to light it

I think the larger size is worth looking at simply because of the sharpness of the D800E in this instance...Or, I like it at least....
