    In its Raw form, I was not too sure about it, but after a bit of tinkering, I began to like it a bit more.

    Polar Plunge

    Polar Plunge on New Years. 29F with freezing rain and the water was 34F. They had to run 1.5 miles and swim the pool 3 times. She's just finishing here, her goose bumps looked like rawhide. LOL

    Things at the hospital have been hectic this week with us starting up a new software reporting system and it is still creating problems so I have been remiss in my posting. This is another one from Sedona, AZ, taken the day after the last one I posted.

    Why on earth do people put themselves through this kind of torture? They must have clinically profound masochistic tendencies! :-0

    Last picture before I started getting the dreaded blinking 'Err' message. Now, my camera keeps locking up and no photos are being recorded on my SD cards. :-(

    To add salt to the would, I am 2 days outside my stores return/exchange period. I was advised to call the owner tomorrow morning to see what options he is willing to extend to me.

    @calengor

    I have not tried that. I'm not sure if that will change anything though. It seems to just be a master reset of settings.

    I'll record my current settings and possibly try that.

    It seems to be working okay right now. I'll be keeping an eye on things, though.

    What a great start to the year! Awesome stuff everybody.

    @PitchBlack - Those 200 f/2 shots are making me want to make a bad financial decision. Great stuff

    I had precisely 30 seconds to take photos of this car because we were leaving at that instant.

    But if I were to buy a used sports car, this would be close to the top of the list.

    BMW Z4M...  So much want.

    I really like that ducktail rear, along with that smooth, flowing hatchback. The convertible looks stubby by comparison. This is sleek and lithe.

    When I saw Orion rising above these trees I had a fantasy about trying to get a few quick snaps of some Milky Way background for the Illumination show. But it seems there were some, shall I say, "technique" issues ... May try this again when I'm a little better prepared (and those thin high clouds are gone). Probably need to view a larger size to see the stars at all.

    @NSXTypeR I used to own one when I was 20 years old and remember the goosebumps I get driving my z4 M coupe while hearing its quad magnaflow exhaust scream.

    A first try at this. Got a cloudless night with a new moon. Shot 50 :30 exposures, including a "dark frame," and integrated them using Star Trax. I used the comet setting with long tails. Not bad for a first try, although I think I could have lowered the ISO a bit (I used 1600, probably could have gotten away with 1250 or 1000). Any thoughts from those who have done this kind of thing before? I'm puzzled about how Star Trax uses the dark frame. I processed with and without it and couldn't really detect any discernible differences.
