So I decided to go down to the woods where I know there are some Hares.
Last time I was there I was in the snow and it made spotting the runs easy, I had committed one or two to memory so chose a spot that may yield some results and sat down to wait leaning against a tree.
I was camo'd up and with balaclava and leafy bush hat too.
After a while I could see a hare moving about but could not get a shot in, I had decided to not get impatient and try and move in on it which usually fails. After a while I could see him move round to my left and then start towards me right at the extremity of my field of vision.
He came closer I daren't hardly breath and did not want to move my head, he got to within a metre of me and stopped, I was afraid even the movement of my eyes might scare him. Then he moved behind me and the tree and I could here him scratching about. Eventually he hopped off.
I wasn't even bothered about missing the shot it was such a privileged experience and so rare.
Great shots everyone! About 200 shots put together with Microsoft ICE. D5000+Tamron 18-250+CPL, Tripod. (centered) The Bahrain World Trade Center, Kingdom of Bahrain.
@Dredden: There is some kind of cross-cultural misunderstanding going on here! Thanks for your praise of my image - really. I am pleased that it came out so sharp - not bad for a kit lens!
No Tommie. I think Dredden is a little confused about that. I don't have a pro account so my images are uploaded as 1024 X 768 I looked at it at 100% on my screen here. I have a 16 x 24 of that wreck on the wall which is wowie sharp too.
A photo right after I came back to HK from Taiwan. Unfortunately, my D40 was still dead at that point and I had handed back the D40x to my uncle I think.
Here's a 5 shot pano that I put together from our visit to Colorado last month. I'll admit that I failed to shoot each image in portrait orientation. Didn't think about that until we were driving away. Can't do too many of these as my computer is old and the D800 files are big. See the 2048px size on Flickr to really appreciate the view. One of the Medway forts can be seen in the background, it was built in 1859 as a defense against expanding european neighbours.
I love the detail and the varieties of color on the hull.
I just looked at it 100% and wow! It is really sharp!!
Just a dull winter day in Germany.

But, look closely at the guy in the background...

I like the contrast.
