Nice one tganiats. Proudgeek: very nice. Did you try to give the ice in the background some silver shine? Silver efex pro should be destined to try that. Just my 2 cents.

Gab - I think the only ways one could fail in photography are 1) to not get the shot, or 2) to take a really boring snapshot. Once your photograph incites thought as to how it was taken I think you are pretty safe in concluding it is *not* a snapshot, nor is it a failure to get a shot. Nice photo, is the movement from the leaves blowing in the wind? The branches look fairly sharp.
Gab. I like it. What was your technique in producing this image? Out of focus or movement blur?
This picture is entirely inspired by your "Crop for Modern Art?" topic on this forum. When I read your post about cropping a small area and the crazy color parts, while looking at your samples I immediately thought how much I liked a small area of a few month old landscape shot I've made. I've been experimenting with different focus distances (35mm 1.8 lens) and in the version from which this image is originated had that part fairly out of focus. So about the technique:
1. Small fairly oof area cropped out. 2. Strong sharpening with large radius in LR. 3. Various contrast, clarity and color adjustments in LR. 4. Strong noise reduction to make it look smooth. 5. Some Photoshop magic with blending modes. 6. Basic "wedding photographers" glow in PS. (gauss blur on one layer blended with a sharp layer)
Thanks for the great comments, I rlly thought no one would be interested
