Sunrise over Niagara Falls...What modern technology allows. Used software to find out when sunrise would occur and where the sun would rise. Used HDR to help with the dynamic range. Used Aperture to clone away a distraction. I would do the HDR differently next time (and with my D800), but was happy with this early D80 attempt

@Mike: When I viewed your image on my Ipad I did not see the description and was trying to figure it out-so as I scrolled a bit I knew. Just amazing shot and creativity. @tgantiats: the falls will never be the same. Beautifully done.
very impressive portfolio you show here tganiats. That's a similar location that Leibovitz used for her book cover. I like your shot better though.
here are more of my vacation snaps, a little down the horizon there is a coastline that was used for many movies, Jurassic Park I + III and outbreak for example.
@ Mike Gunter - I have a book on my desk at work called "And Suddenly the Inventor Appeared", regarding innovation. In the case of your shot I'd like to say "And Suddenly the Photographer Appeared" . . . and got the photograph.
