I end up getting it shipped today by canceling my amazon order and ordering it through one of the other stores selling it on amazon (The Shutterbug). That way I could still use my amazon rewards points. I did have to pay for shipping though. How on earth are these little shops getting shipments and the mega giant Amazon gets zero? Whatever, I should have mine early next week...
@DaveyJ I'm awaiting your report of the camera. I'm hoping it's a 'good' to 'excellent' one!
Also, Amazon will not be receiving more 'body only' shipments until April 14th at the earliest. I spoke with one of their representatives, and he confirmed to me that they had a delay with their supplier. Kinda sucks
I appreciate very much the possibility to use the OK button in playback and LiveView for enlarging of the view - thew screen is really great. On/Off switch feels snappier. Auto white balance is very good, I start to become happy with this purchase
I'm fine with Jared speaking camera, but the humor is a little flat. Nice to see something other than the "I shoot RAW" tee shirt.
Oh, yeah and the D7100 looks like an awesome cam.
I did a direct comparison of the D7100 body to the D7000 body. Slight change to the sculpture of the back upper right that was more comfortable with a larger grip for the thumb. Also minor changes under the lens on the front. I looked at the back and see why the D7000 external battery pack cannot be used on the D-7100. The tripod/accessory socket has been moved forward, the bottom is shaped slightly different, and the hole on the bottom left for the pin on the battery pack, is much larger than the one on the D7000.
The Camera Company received nine D7100 and 6 went to customer preorders, 1 to one store for display, 1 to the other store for display. They only have the D7100 kits, no D7100 bodies.
I ran the new D7100 threw a bunch of settings and found nothing I did not like. It's better than my wives D90 and my daughters D3100. Highly recommended.
Would I buy it to replace my D300? No. Would I buy it to replace my wife's D90 or for a second body; Yes without hesitation. I will continue to wait on Nikon to introduce the D300/D300s replacement.

Welcome to NRF...what is your photo experience, cameras, etc. so we can understand your perspective?
I do hope it is an aberration on a few bodies and will not be common.
I just wait with complaining because I think, RAWs will be great . At low ISO it's fantastic! Superb Whitebalance, very good exposure metering.
