Gemsbok #56 Original without cropping. 70-200 VR2 + TC-1.4II at maximum reach manual focus*** Auto/Manual(Manual/Auto) is not focusing on this bad boy with the wire mesh between us.
I took a hot-air balloon ride yesterday. Being on the tall side, note that the "fires of hell" burned just above my head. By the end of the ride, my camera and lens where definitely (and uncomfortably) the "hottest" around...
A couple I know from here loss their son Cody Carver in Iraq and built this bike in his and two of his fellow soldiers who died that day honor.
Their portraits are also painted into the bike. This was also the original bike used in the movie Ghost Rider, which explains why they bought this bike, Ghost Rider.
Quite a reunion you got there Msmoto. Very nice work here, love the portrait, bugs, birds, fish and stories.
Vienna is currently under fairly heavy maintenance and many of the greatest structures are covered so the city will be much nicer in a couple of years I guess. People that live here may appreciate the huge publicity banners that announce this or that event/product or galactical projection screens but as a tourist looking for history and architecture, it is a bit of a shame. So far I still think Paris is the nicest and most photogenic city and Italy the most fun to visit. People in Austria are very nice and go out of their way to speak English and accommodate us, which is not quite the same (in my experience) for Switzerland. As far as I can tell, mountain and lake wise, south of Switzerland wins hands-up. We are in the middle of a heat wave and got 40-45 C in the shade. Hotels in Austria are very nice and exactly half the cost of those in Switzerland but air conditioners are inexistent. Food is very basic, nothing like France or Italy. Today we arrived in Munich. We were driving around trying to find a wow area but found none so we rushed-out and are heading toward Berlin. Despite its maintenance, Vienna wins easily over Munich. The mountain area south of Munich is very nice and perhaps we should had spent more time there instead of rushing to Munich.
