While visiting CA I was sitting on the back porch of the house I rented having coffee and reading the paper. I heard some rustling in the clearing in front of me and looked up to find myself face to face with this doe and her fawn (which I'll show at a later date) starting straight at me. I think we were both equally surprised. She held my gaze for a good minute, standing perfectly still, before bounding off. It was one of those moments that are lost forever if you don't have a camera in your lap. D90 | 70-200 | 200mm | f/3.2 | 1/100s | ISO 400
Your bicyclists suggested I show these guys who rode up grades of near 20%, to an elevation of over 14,000 feet (4267 meters) in air which has little oxygen....yikes!
Beautiful work folks .... Favs and comments on Flickr here's mine ... shot yesterday .. Did a bit of hasty post processing on the background .... could've done a better job .. :-/ "Tools of the trade" ...
The view these elk's have at 12,000+ feet elevation is just staggering. Taking this shot was not easy with 20-25mph wind guests hand held. There was no way I was going to clime back down the hill to the car and get my tripod.

After coming out a pretty mediocre movie, I had some time in a freshly washed city before I head to heading the train home. Closing time...

Oh, please! I did that every morning, when I was kid, just to get to school. In the snow. With a broken banana seat and loose handlebars.

I took this shot not with a macro lens but with a 18-135mm and cropped afterwards.
Looks acceptably sharp to me.
