Meinrad, what I find good about PAD is not only do the images get me thinking about how to improve my photography but people are so positive, which also is neat. So, I am just amazed at what people accomplish here. Msmoto, to get you thinking more about Glacier National Park, another photo of Lake McDonald from several years back:
I've been silent reader of this forum since D600 rumors started. After it was announced, I switched from Canon 400D to D600 and I'm quite happy with my choice. Here is my first post in the forum. PAD is inspiring!!!
Normally I would be sharing one of my Eagle pictures from this morning since I actually saw 7! Instead my day is filled with sorrow as I had to say goodbye to my beloved Beluga Jane. She has been our best friend and companion for 14 years. We will miss her..
@Coastalconn Dogs lives too fast, in our ritme 14 is 90+ years old, so you lost a peace of yourself and it leaves a scar. I always think of the joy my best friend gave me, helps a lot for me.
I contribute an eagle just for you, this beautilful birds are in Holland too, but only in the zoo and bird of prey farms. I like yours much much more.

Those who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it!
Been absent for a couple of weeks but still peeking in at all the amazing photographs everyone has been putting up here. Would also like to extend a welcome to all of the new members. Your work is truly inspiring. @Coastalconn, sorry for your loss. We're actually looking into getting a puppy for our kids.
Here's a shot at the end of our visit to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. More to come.

Bit clichéd, but I like it.
I think you did well with the grasshopper...nice.

posting the Rainbow Bridge for you.
The Rainbow Bridge
inspired by a Norse legend
By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.
For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.
No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.
They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.
For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.
The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.
