Misty showing her love towards Nikon's D4. Getting the cat hair off required a bath however :)

I haven't been here in a while. Just looked through the pages I missed. One picture really impressed me: avro707c's take-off shot of the airplane is just the perfect pan at 1/15. Wow, good job.

In keeping with the present season (sorry Aussies and Kiwis: you miss the big freeze), a handheld winter shot:

A magical weather anomaly is over Vancouver right now, called a Weather Inversion, provides some very magical views to capture! This was shot with a Nikon D800E & Nikkor 70-200mm F2.8, the sharpness is unbelievable as it is possible to zoom in on the full resolution version and actually see people and furniture in some of the apartments in the downtown Vancouver high-rises :)

    Vancouver Emerges from the Inversion
  • That is fun Golf007sd, now we wait for the first photo she makes with the D4. :D
Those who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it!

@Baz Very nice shot. With that said, your water marks are a bit distracting. One will do and a bit smaller would be my recommendation...just my 2 cents. Thanks for sharing...cheers.

Totally not a great shot at all. But this is probably the only time I'd ever see a Sigma 200-500 2.8 in the "wild".

    Sigma 200-500 2.8

Found in some Hong Kong camera store, on the 7th or 8th floor.

@Baz great shot, what night was that taken? I was out on Cyprus yesterday afternoon.
If I take a good photo it's not my camera's fault.

On a December walk through a park that a friend used to work at - White Clay Creek State Park in Delaware - I spotted hilltop structure that she had never noticed. Behind it was this ramshackle outhouse, gradually collapsing down the hill. Not unusual until one looks inside and is confronted... with art deco wallpaper?

Please don't judge too harshly! I'm in the process of researching post-processing software. What you see is exactly what came from the camera. No processing. Just got the lens within the last week. Temp was -11C (12F).

Nice shot Scuderia. I dont know how much post processing you have in mind, but I would not do too much. It is a very authentic forest scene and I bet it took a lot of effort to get this shot at 420mm. I maybe would crop it a bit. But as I said, nice shot.

Bike race in Kuala Lumpur. Handheld at 1/80th of a second. I had an extremely low keeper-rate that day. Wish I had my tripod with me and those guys would have driven a bit faster :-)

Nice plover? cbg looks very sharp!

Ok fellow birders, Am I expecting too much? This vulture is over 90 meters (infinity on my lens) away. I always feel that my BIF from a distance are always lacking in sharpness this is cropped down to roughly 2200 square.. feel free to leave thoughts or suggestions on my flickr...

Everyone's giving us interesting pictures here.
@ obajoba, thank you. It's an interesting effect that I'll continue to try on occasion with some tweaking.

OK, I thought I was done with Steamboat Springs but here's one more. Inspired by rschnaible's arial view.

I shot this photo through the window of the Gondola lift. I initially processed it in camera with the Miniature Effect then once exported, removed a bit of window glare in CS5. Finally tweaked the tone and sharpened in LR4.3. Talk about seeing for miles....
