Strange pair these two. The curved bill Ibis goes about crabbing in the oyster beds white the Little Snowy Egret follows looking for small fish that are disturbed while hidding in the beds.
Need help on posting an image,....Doesn't seem to work like others I have used?? Will watch for comments. Thank you for any assistance.
I would like to post an image from how I started the new year. Got up at 3;00AM to photograph sea smoke rising off the ocean. Temperature was in single digits with a strong wind chill factor.
Sea smoke occurs when the subfreezing air temperatures react with the warmer ocean producing a cauldron like vapor wonderland. This session was the coldest conditions I have ever shot in,....spent 7 hours on location at Quoddy Head State Park in Lubec, Maine. Was 15 degrees when I left,..and felt warm compared to pre light temperatures I had experienced. I look forward to taking part here with the group. Thanks for your help on inserting an image. Martys
Martys: You need to read how to post on this thread - the thread is called 'How to post pictures on the Photo A Day thread' (surprisingly) and you will see it on the forum home page.
Here's a shot I took up while I was on my way to Hong Kong.
Meandering River
Nikon D40 35mm 1.8 1/100th at F/2 ISO 1600
Honestly, shooting out of an airplane has got to be one of the laziest ways to photograph things. You sit around watching movies with the window open and shoot when you see something interesting.
Hello all, am new to Photo A Day, I think this may work this time,...my preview showed it fine. Here goes?

Conowingo Dam in early December... the Sigma 120-400mm lens I borrowed from a friend did not do me very well there. Given the conditions, the eagles did not get very close, and the ones that did fly overhead were quickly backlit.

I have had the same problem there at times with my sigma 150-500. There's no such thing as too much lens when shooting the eagles at Conowingo
@PB_PM - the shot of Vancouver under the inversion was taken on Sunday 20th January 2013 about an hour after sunset at 17:42. I see you posted one of Vancouvers inversion showing the clouds totally covering the valley ... nice shot!
@Golf007sd - thanks for the feedback concerning the watermarks. As I sell my images in print I heavily watermark online versions to ensure copyright is maintained, hence the fact that the watermarks are distracting to a degree is good as it ensures the image will hopefully not be "borrowed". I do appreciate your feedback and will actually reduce them slightly in future images.
