Thanks for sharing your flickr pictures. Very nice. Love the picture of the lighthouse. When my wife and I were there 4 years ago it was very windy, 50 mph winds, and a north eastern was headed in. So I grabbed some shots mid morning and we never went back. The weather was awful that evening.

To summarize my experience in Maine…. success. I captured my sunrise lighthouse as planned and that was my primary goal. The other shots were frosting on the cake.
I think all of us who attended enjoyed the casual atmosphere and the freedom to do what one wanted…. sort of. Here is one shot of the last night, chatting with some skate boarders…very nice young men….
So, we are now beginning the planning for next year…… and maybe one or two in between…..
I hope the weather didn't detract from the fun too much and that you-all might consider coming back to northern New England in another season. The fall is just glorious; no bugs, great light and fantastic colors and if you stay off the beaten track away from the tourist hot spots it isn't all that crowded. If you get good guide books and rent a car there are hundreds of out of the way places like the Shaker Village site in my town of Canterbury, New Hampshire and the St Gaudens National Historic site in Cornish, New Hampshire and the Windsor-Cornish bridge that is reputed to be the longest covered bridge in the US. And at least once in a life time you've got to do a New England country fair like the Deerfield fair in New Hampshire. The nice thing is that if you pick a central location most everything is day trip-able. I'm sure I sound like a tour guide but I think you get the hint. Cheers
I had such a fantastic time! My huge thanks to @Msmoto, @Golf007sd and any others who helped make the weekend happen. I've been pulled back into family life back here at home, but am excited to dig into a few images that I just know are good. I don't know the forum names of all our compatriots but thanks to each of you for making trip fun and for sharing your wisdom and experience with me. This trip definitely helped me experiment with, and learn, some techniques that I'll be using more in the future, specifically long exposure shooting at night. I'm not sure yet if my daytime long exposures with ND400 filter really worked yet. Hopefully! I'll try to post some stuff in the coming week or so.
Thanks @Golf007sd for the photos of me, and our talented fellow photogs. I did get a bit cold occasionally, but I guess as you pointed out, my experience with the Canadian climate served me well!
Thanks again friends!

Some more photo's with my own little side of humor.
Msmoto getting ready for the day. I really like the mode this shot brings out. For the record this shot was taken by Benji2505 on my D4. Even though the man has one himself, he just wanted some of my mojo. :P

This is how you cary a big gun!
Adam, despite his great skills, cannot help avoiding danger. For the records, his jacket suffered some damage, but Msmoto was their to help out. Hence, never leave home without gaffer tape.

Now here are the money shots. That is to say, my dear friend proudgeek, was very kind and brought his 300 2.8 so that I will be able to try it out. His exact words were: "Ali, I got a surprise for you. I know you will like it." Truly an honorable, gentle, class of a man. This act alone tells me a lot about this individual. Needless to say, I was very humbled by such kindness and forward thinking. The 300 2.8 is going to be purchase very soon by me....Period!
Henry, setting up for his lighthouse shot. He was MIA for like 20 minutes. In short, his was on cloud nine having a whole lot of fun at a point I told him to go shoot at. This shot was taken threw a fence.

Lastly, Admin and I having dinner at nice steak house in Boston. Admin's rule you should know: 2 drinks minimum/max....unless you are having red meat; if so, then he will join you for an additional glass of red wine.
