    My D800 is about to arrive anytime now, so excited! I have used handheld cameras for years, this is my first dslr. I expect steep learning curve and many hours of frustration but look forward to the challenge.

    Namaste to all,
    I live in New Delhi, India and work in a 5* hotel as Administration Department head. I have a Nikon D7000 and a Nikon Coolpix P500. I'm still learning the craft of Photography. I love to shoot wildlife (Its mainly birds and small animals) and landscapes. Now I'm trying my hand at street photography so that I have a better portfolio.

    Hi everyone. I've been meaning to join a while ago, now I have. I mainly use Nikon, Sony, and Canon but I will use whatever I can get my hands on. I usually don't care what kind it is. I'm looking around for stuff, rumors and things to learn. Cheers.

I have been away the last 4 months, busy with a new job and making myself two leather camera bags, one to wear at the belt and one bag-pack.

    Hello, new2photography here and I live in Memphis, TN. I have been on this site for about 2-3 months now and will be purchasing 1st DSLR soon. I think I've decided on the d5200. I'm still waiting to see if Canon 700d is comparable. Does anyone know where beginners of photography should start when looking for tutorials? (e.g. Youtube, books, or etc..)

    @new2photography

    Welcome. I think if you simply go to a book store and look in the photo book section, you will find one you can understand and enjoy. Also, on Nikon website you will find some "Digitutors"

    Here is a link to the Nikon list of articles

    Jump in and ask a few questions on some of the threads....but do some reading first so you understand the general issues of your question.

    I started taking pictures while in college. My first camera was a Minolta SR1-It had a clip-on light meter. I moved through several Minolta models then quit after dropping my camera in Singapore. Then, I got a Nikon d70s hand-me-down from our son. I'm still a picture-taker who is trying to take good photos.
