My D800 is about to arrive anytime now, so excited! I have used handheld cameras for years, this is my first dslr. I expect steep learning curve and many hours of frustration but look forward to the challenge.

Hi everyone. I've been meaning to join a while ago, now I have. I mainly use Nikon, Sony, and Canon but I will use whatever I can get my hands on. I usually don't care what kind it is. I'm looking around for stuff, rumors and things to learn. Cheers.
Love keeping up to date on Nikon gear with Nikon Rumors..recently sold the D5000 and upgraded to a D700 please check out some of my work http://www.flickr.com/photos/jsepanic/
I joined March 1, 2010 and had 1023 posts before the reset. I have been on-and-off photography for the last 25 years but became more serious after getting a D700 following advised from members here. I have been away the last 4 months, busy with a new job and making myself two leather camera bags, one to wear at the belt and one bag-pack.

Hello, new2photography here and I live in Memphis, TN. I have been on this site for about 2-3 months now and will be purchasing 1st DSLR soon. I think I've decided on the d5200. I'm still waiting to see if Canon 700d is comparable. Does anyone know where beginners of photography should start when looking for tutorials? (e.g. Youtube, books, or etc..)
Welcome. I think if you simply go to a book store and look in the photo book section, you will find one you can understand and enjoy. Also, on Nikon website you will find some "Digitutors"
Hey everybody, just joined up. I'm really happy to be part of a nikon loving community. Nikon has always been my first choice. Right now I am shooting with a D5100 and the 35mm f/1.8 lens. Great combo so far.

I started taking pictures while in college. My first camera was a Minolta SR1-It had a clip-on light meter. I moved through several Minolta models then quit after dropping my camera in Singapore. Then, I got a Nikon d70s hand-me-down from our son. I'm still a picture-taker who is trying to take good photos.
