Hello all. I have found myself spending more and more time clicking around this site. My wife thinks I have a problem. I am lucky to be a stay at home dad with four daughters. I have always enjoyed taking pics of the kids. The older two are busy with sports so I have taken a real interest in that side of things. I really enjoy and appreciate all the great tips on the Rumors site. The PAD is fantastic! I have found that photography keeps me out of trouble at the games(if I am busy taking pics I have less time to critique the officials).
@srambler36: It is always pleasing to hear that individuals like yourself that have visit our site and are now taking a more proactive roll in joining us as a member....welcome to the family. By all means shear you family images with us on PAD. Ask us any question you may have and we will do our best to help. As for the wife...well give her the camera body and let her play with it. Show her how it all works. The more she understand photography the better.....cheers for now.

Hi everybody! I new to the Forum, but not to Nikon or photography. I’ve using Nikon SLRs since 1982 (FM2). I’m an engineer teaching at a University, not a very good or active photographer, but I like good photo gear (I wouldn’t apologize for having more stuff than I really need...). I live in Northeastern Brazil (Campina Grande/Paraíba), not far from miles and miles of desert beaches... Nowadays I use a D7100, Nikkor lenses (Fisheye 10.5/2.8G, Zoom 12-24/4G, 35/1.8G, 50/1.4D, 85/1.8G, Micro 105/2.8G, 180/2.8D), a Manfrotto tripod (and Leica mini), Nikon flashes (SB400, SB900), sparingly, and mostly Nikon accessories (filters, etc). Shoot mostly JPEG, portraits and landscape, and a little macro (plants, insects) now and then. Pass everything through DxO Optics Pro 8, and use Adobe Elements only if forced to. I would like to grow a little – technically and artistically – mostly for the intellectual challenge. ecanedo
Hello All. I've been missing for some time. Lot's of things have happened that made me less available to post or take pictures. When I was around, I had a Nikon D5100. I accidentally sold it several month ago to a friends daughter and just didn't have the funds to purchase a replacement until last night. I finally got a D7100 yesterday, and just couldn't be more happy. Everything about the camera is great. And while I'm still in the learning phase, I've taken a couple great first shots, so I know this camera and I will be great friends.
It's nice to see many of the same people around along with some new folks. I actually had to re-register on the new site, so I lost all my old post count. I'll try to be a more frequent contributor going forward.
Nikon D7100; AF-S DX 35mm f1.8; AF-S DX Macro 40mm f2.8; AF-S DX 18-200mm VRII; SB-700 Speed Light and a bunch of other not very noteworthy stuff......
Thank you Golf.......glad to have some time to enjoy photography again. I'll post some pics once I've really had the opportunity to shoot something of interest.

Hi Forum, I'm pretty new to this updated forum, and never visited the old one, that I can remember?!? It feels like a wide screen friendly group pic is in order...
Been and avid amateur photographer since my early teens, and have always had some sort of a camera around. My first Nikon was my FE, that I still have and use it, with a 50mm lens. Then I bought a Cool-Pix 995 that treated me very well, until it had a bad fall, and was past the time it could be repaired,
Sadley I went without a proper digital camera, since mid 2009. :-( Ah, yeah so it took me this long to save up for my current awesome photo gear. Including the incredible D800, a righteous 24-120mm lens, the bright SB-910, sensitive ME-1, and sturdy Vanguard tripod with maneuverable GH-300T ~ including a couple other well rounded ball grips...
So I'm glad to be back behind the lens, and feeling very happy to be here, thanks or the awesome Forum, everybody. Looking for other Canadians and particularly my fellow Albertans to share and grow, photographically with together.

I have been a long time lurker. Since I plan on defecting from Canon and buying my first Nikon, I decided it was time to make an account. I have enjoyed reading the posts here and I hope to continue learning more about Nikons.
Gear: Camera obscura with an optical device which transmits and refracts light.
Hi everybody. Unfortunately, I haven't been a long time lurker as I was only born barly two weeks ago. Though, I guess I have photography in my blood after my daddy. Though, you may wait a little bit till I post something in PAD please know that my heart beat is like a shutter to my ears

Welcome to NRF. I think I also have a Leica Mini Tripod, if that is what you are referring to...mine is from the 1960's ....
New to photography, going to sit in the back row and learn from the experts here.
I have a D600 with a low shutter count and no problems yet.
Also keep a D40 with me while traveling during my day job. Self-employed, work at the customers' sites.
Get to work at home for my second job as a freelancer, drawing.
This forum is usually interesting reading. Perhaps I'll have something useful to contribute now and then.
Thanks for having me!
Welcome to NRF. Always good to have a Texan onboard....
