Totally depends on what you shoot most of. For me as I don't need a machine gun, no. But your mileage may vary. Do you shoot much sport?

That's like asking if you should trade in a Ford for a Ferrari. Totally depends on what you use the camera for! If you need resolution, D7100. If 12MP is fine, the D3s is as good as it gets for a 12MP Nikon body. Require a larger dynamic range? D7100. Better low light performance? D3s. Speed? D3s. Toughness? D3s. Small, light weight body? D7100. Use with big pro gear? D3s. Auto focus performance? I'd give that to the D3s.

OK, then that's easy: If your lenses are all FX, go for it as it is still a great camera. If your lenses are mainly DX, then it's more of a problem as they become useless.

LOL i think that is the opposite of politics :-) its more like kick them when they are down and it helps that you nudged them in the first place :-)

They were selling for Black Friday new for $600 or so.

Body only they're selling at around $589 at B and H, used.

I think you are thinking of the D7000 not the D700. Used D700's are still going for around $1k.

Good point. I think there were some problems with the other map that devalued its usefulness but I did enjoy looking at it.

The +1 -1 buttons on this forum need to be like they are on Facebook - a list of those who have used them needs to pop up next to the button when you hover over it. I actually find that it stops me using them because I would like people to see I agree/disagree with a point.

I think there was a 14mm 2.8 AF-D prime... which was quickly superseded when they introduced the zoom.
