Those who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it!
@ Donaldejose......That's a very remarkable portrait, Donald.....what a warm and friendly looking man!
@ Pippigurl......We have a lot of owls around our place, we hear them almost every night, yet we very rarely see one of them; sadly, I've heard that barn owls are diminishing in numbers. That is such a lovely shot !
@ Pierre......Do you have any idea what those things were used for before some one used them for a sculpture ? They look very familiar, but I simply can't remember where I saw something like that.
@ Amberlight.....A very pretty kitty and a very nice picture
@ Coastalconn.....The osprey is looking up to see if those pesky eagles are about to come swooping down on him and steal his fish again.
BTW........here's a great idea for every one with a picture on PAD; I went down the street to my friend's sign shop today; his computer monitor is a 24" X 48" plasma hi-def TV; while he was working on a sign, I suddenly had a great idea; I googled up NRF, went to PAD, and spent the next hour looking at every one's pictures "full screen" ! You can't believe the huge difference ! I see so many pictures on PAD that to me, look like they were just meant to be looked at BIG ! I don't know why I never thought to try it before. So if you have a really big TV, hook your computer up to it and see for yourself.
I think maybe Postman's beautiful canvas prints are what gave me the idea; my friends huge 48 inch ink jet printer was sitting only about 8 feet from the computer; I had half a mind to send one of the photos to the printer to see what kind of a print it would produce; maybe I'll try it out with one of my pictures. ;
OH NO.......just as I posted, up pops the photo of the month ! That's the best penguin picture I have ever seen! (not only the best picture of the month, but absolutely the best caption of the month ! ( If notv the whole year )
@Gitzo seeing your work printed and displayed anywhere in large print is really something else. When I opened up the first one and looked it over the grin on my face took a while to die down.
Back to landscapes today. The Ogwen Valley from Y Garn in Snowdonia, Wales. Still in full winter mode despite being April.
@ Pierre, I did see a number of Nikon shooters on board. My eyes might be biased but I thought I saw more Nikons than any other brand although most had P&S's and camera phones - which is how I often got by as well. Even saw a gentleman with his new D600. All of the ships contract photographers shoot Nikon. It was neat to see these guy and girls come out in the evenings with their cases of gear and various modifiers.
From the upper deck while most were still asleep. Docking in St. Maarten.
Another one from that same location in Korea, Dong Gang, but a 3 shot panoramic from the ground floor level (the previous was from the open roof of the observatory)
Another butterfly photo... ISO 100, 105MM, f 5.6, 1/25th.
I am disappointed with this photo. I love the color of the blue morpho butterfly. I should shot this with more DOF, so that the butterfly would have been completely in focus... Ahhhhh! I will get this right eventually.
This is the shot I'm determined to get up close so I don't have to crop so much. I've switched over to shooting my Ospreys in manual mode. The Tamron is holding up pretty well now. This is almost 100% crop...

@ aviachar......I'm with Dredden....another WOW! from me.....That's something I'll never see in my lifetime....
@ Yetti......Got any idea how far that is from Branson ? I'm gonna be there in June....I'd like to see that place
