I've always seen shots like this and liked the look but wasn't sure how it was done. In a perfect world, there would have been more static objects like the sign to play against the moving water. D90 | 24-70 | 24mm | f/22 | 15s | ISO 200 Processed in Silver Efex using a high key preset. Placed control points along the jetty and to the sign to add structure while reducing structure along the rest of the water. Still not sure this is the right way to do it; I'll have to try more the next time I'm near an ocean.
Dante's View sits over 5,000 feet above Badwater in Death Valley, and sometimes offers spectacular sunsets, but not the evening I was there. Still, the view is incredible:
Nice shots everyone. Well I have so many hawk pictures and I saw some eagles today, but they were all far away, I decided to try a worm's eye view of an American Robin. I've started to get use to the idea of flopping down on cold wet ground to get a different perspective...

Mike, beautiful background....quite a bit of distortion though. Not that you wanted my 2 worthless pennies!
Anyway this month is almost over...can't believe it.
