I spend quite a bit of time in Seoul and have been to that temple many times. I have a free morning tomorrow and may wander down there in the morning...

December 10th - I originally meant to go 16 miles further to Culvers Gap and to arrive there by the next day, but instead I decided I was moving fast enough to aim for High Point, NJ by the next day, the 11th. This meant going 15 miles further, and this all wound up being finished before midnight on the 10th. Every time I reached a shelter or other decent stopping point, I decided to keep moving. I was in that magic zone where nothing matters except continuing to walk. Also, it was cold enough that I didn't want to stay still. Ultimately I reached High Point and hitchhiked down to Port Jervis with the only car going down the road, then stayed in a cheap hotel in town. I had hiked 31 miles on one of the shortest days of the year, through ice and snow.

Here was one of my possible stopping points early in the night, Sunrise Mountain. This pavilion was built by the CCC back in the 30s.

If some of you wonder, why you don't see me quite often on the forum. Below is the answer :)

@adamz, looking at that photograph and cute little subject I think we should be seeing more of your work, not less! Wonderful portrait!
    Occasionally a decent image ...

Same monument as before but from the front. Had a little weather moving through which gave the sky some character.

Some good stuff I've missed. Well I can say that this is the closest i've ever been to a Heron.

Congrats Adamz! Looks a lot less ferocious than some of your other wildlife.

The resident Blue Herring (Max) at Big Lagoon State Park, FL. While I shot this Blue Herring and kept him entertained, Dredden85 shot him from the front. We just got back from vacation and once I edit down the pictures will be uploading more pictures of Max.

  • This little guy was posing while I took his picture-- he did several different poses during this time. I have never seen a wild animal do this--it was so cool.... This is his muscle pose -- check the front paws as he hangs.

Backyard birding. Heavily cropped but not bad nonetheless.
