Welcome to the forum. And, we love to answer questions…… or use the search function and just put in D7000.

    Hi,
NR has been on my radar for about 3 years. But today I discovered the Tab "forum" and clicked.
In the beginning...well I don't remember the beginning. I know I have always wanted to shoot as a hobby, but never did more than take snapshots with whatever camera was available or a fad at the time. In 1980 my wife gave me a ME Super from Pentax. I got the bug. I used that camera for close to 20 years before it gave up the ghost. Its beat up and doesn't work, but I still have it along with the 50mm 1.7 kit lens that came with it.
Since I had the bug, I also purchased a Minolta 110 Zoom. I did a lot of travel photography with the Pentax. But I was a hobbyist. Because life set in I put down my hobby in order to grow my family. I still used the cameras but it was for holidays and trips.
In 1994, with one daughter on her own and the other close to it, I once again picked up my hobby. It has become a passion. I am still an amateur, but have done weddings, events, sports, as well as travel photography.
My current gear includes a D3, D600, and 13 lenses. I purchased Aperture when it first came out, and still use it, but I just took advantage of the Adobe deal for $9.99 month which includes Lightroom and Photoshop CC. I have been a Photoshop user since before it was called PhotoshopCS#
I think I'll end this before I bore everyone. I am glad I found this forum. Cheers!

Hello there guys. I'm new to the forums. But I've been a frequent visitor to the site. And since getting a D600 for x-mas, decided that I need to learn how to fully utilize the camera.

@Tecumseh: Welcome and have fun with your D600 it has served many of our members well...so long as they have not had and dust oil issues.

    Hello,

I have tried to log into my old account but can't seem to receive my password prompt, so here is my 2014! I hope this works Msmoto? Thanks!

I work for the Museum of Natural History in New York City shooting collections for Anthropology. I am enlightened every day by this wonderful position. We use Digital backs on Mamiya RZ67IIs and Hasselblad H2s, but they are clunky in comparison to my versatile d800 and lens collection. I hope to visit Peru by the summer. I occasionally land a few large prints into shows, mainly Landscapes and Social Landscapes, where I concentrate on people in their lush environments.

Since the first 720P d300s, I have shot small budget cinema using my zeiss and AIS collection and as I better understand the rules of this forum hope to represent the power of the Nikon Mount under the context of video ;D.. I shot film from when I was young given a minolta SRT matched to a 50 1.4 Rokkor, Graduated Pratt in Brooklyn for Photography, My latest best friend is a 35 f2 AIS with a declicked aperture. I love lenses and see each one as unique extensions of my mind, I hope to give insight in this area, on this forum.

    Mourrice

hello fellow photographers. New to Nikon Rumor Forum. Not new to photography, but my skills could always be improved. Living in Iowa, all of my life so far. Working with a point and shoot Kodak z1012 is. Grew up using a Pentax (DX?). Old camera of my dad's with a Tamron 210 zoom lens. Saving up for a Nikon D5300 at the moment. Will link my images soon.
A few images from my Kodak. Looking forward to the Nikon D5300.

  • Hello. I'm new here. I'm a keen photographer, mainly landscape and sports photography and some close up work.
My current gear is Nikon D7100, 18-55 3.5-5.6 : Sigma APO DG 70-300.
Would like advice on whether I should go Full Frame or not, I am considering either the D610 or D800 and a couple of good lenses (budget on lenses of around £650 ~ $800). I have been quoted an excellent price on the D800 of £1350 (Body Only) and D610 of £980 (Body Only).
Would appreciate any advice on this.

Hi my name is Steve and I have an addiction. Several actually but let's stick with photography since that's why I am here.
Been an avid amateur for 40 years now... I mainly shot nature, landscape and macro flowers. In fact I went to great lengths to keep humans out of my frames.... until we had kids.... Now I shoot gymnastics meets and ski races.

Born an raised in northern Ontario hunting fishing and shooting frames when not on the hockey rink or ski hill. Now live in Coquitlam BC.

Currently transitioning from an old D200 to a D610

    Hi,

My name is Lemuel from WA, Australia. I have been stalking the site and forum for a while now and have finally decided to join the wonderful NR family. I consider myself as an advanced hobbist and shoot with a Nikon D800 with the amazing help of the "Holy Trinity" and other lenses. Looking forward to contributing and learning more from others =)

    Hi all,

Long time lurker from New Zealand. Nikon user since film days. I am a flatbed printer and photographer with a soft spot for large format landscapes. Currently running DX gear and due to get a D800 + Tokina 16-28 in the next few weeks. If anyone wants to discuss printing of images onto large and unusual substrates then I am your guy, I love printing panoramas on wood and things like that.
