Brand new to the forum, was just searching to get info on purchasing a Nikon 300, F4 and seeing what is out there, this site looked interesting so I gave it a try
I have been coming to the site for a few years now but never thought to stop in the forums. Signed up today and posted my first photo. Currently I'm saving up for a Nikon d7100 to replace my old D40x. I have a couple of nice lenses a 50 1.8, 85 1.8, 18-200 VR 2. I shoot a lot of landscape and recently started shooting portraits and engagement photos. I'm really looking forward to being more active on the photo sharing forum.

thank you uncle Ali and aunt Tommie... will do my best to follow the rules, though you know... being small deserves some kind of forgiveness... hope to see you soon.
I have been keeping up with the NikonRumors blog and lurking in the forum since I got a D600 kit last year.
I've been taking photos since I was a kid with an Instamatic 126 and then a Minolta 35mm SLR in high school and college. I stopped taking pictures on film and used a point and shoot digital camera for years before deciding to get back in control of the camera.
Greetings from Sunny South Africa, I have been a frequent visitor to NR for many years and it has proven to be a great source of information and buying advice. I work in the car industry but live just a short distance from one of South Africa's great wildlife reserves. I try to involve myself in all photographic genre but much prefer to shoot (?) wildlife and the great open spaces which I find most rewarding. I look forward to learning and sharing with members of the NR forum.
I got into photography because of my first born son and Ive been hooked with it since then, I do it as a hobby and as an outlet and expression of who I am. Anyway this forum has been very helpful in answering some of my questions re: photography and nikon which I have been using since then. Thank you
Hi all, while researching my first DSLR purchase I came across NR which helped a great deal. I bought a D7000 and some lenses back in February and started my journey in photography. Reading and experimenting I have a long way to go before getting anywhere near the impressive standards I see on the PAD forum. I'd appreciate any constructive feedback on the images I'll post. I'm from the UK, currently living in the Middle East.
Hello Forum, I'm Harley Frank from San Diego, CA. 29 years a TV news shooter, retired on disability since 2005. At retirement I immediately took a 6-year break from broadcast imaging to clear TV news from my head. Been gradually creeping into digital capture still work (no more video!) with a D3100. Last January I traded up to a D7100 and started thinking about my work. Three weeks ago the full-frame deals got too good for me to turn away. I got a D610 + 24-85mm kit lens at a great promotional price. I already own a 50mm 1.8G and the 70-300mmVRII plus a couple DX lenses. Enough gear to keep me busy for a long time. BTW: The 50mmG f1.8 FX lens makes a really nice portrait lens on a DX camera (75mm). That's it, glad to be here.
I'm Wibowo. I'm from Indonesia but live in Bakersfield (temporary assignment). I have two gears Canon 7D and Nikon D700. Latest couple months I always used D700.
I'm going to be new to Nikon very soon. for nearly the last ten years I've shot a Canon 1D MII with L glass. It's time to slow down a notch and take life a little easier. From equestrian and rodeo to landscape and ballet. I've been analyzing and lurking here and on the Nikon site both for some time. After much research I'm moving up to an 800D for a body. Lens still to be determined by my bread and butter lens has always been a 70-200 f2.8. Most likely will add a 58mm f1.4 for starters. Glad to be here.

Hi Wibowo. Welcome.
This will be my FIRST Nikon!!!
Came here for advice first!
FreezeAction. Be sure to consider the pros of the D800E over the D800.
