I’ve used the Samsung micro SD cards w/ adapter. I had a problem with one - it was very cheap on eBay and I think it was a fake. Didn’t work at all - I didn’t lose any images, but I had to make an emergency trip to wal mart for a replacement. The other two I used were fine.

Quick question- does anyone use micro SD cards with a SD card adapter? Any downsides to that method other than another possible point of failure? Samsung microSD cards have been very cheap lately.

I have used the microsd + adapter in my camera sometimes.. no issues when I did but that only one sample point.
Fake cards are always a concern for me. I once bought a pack of 3 16 gig cards from a reseller on Amazon. The cards worked fine but were packaged loose in single card cases in a manilla folder. Big red flags all around. I used them in cheap android phones and surprisingly they haven't failed yet, and they've been in use since 2011. I suspect they were quality control rejects that were supposed to be discarded but functionally fine. However, they were collected and "repurposed". It wasn't even "frustration free" packaging, there wasn't any packaging whatsoever.

Thanks for the response. I might give microSD cards a shot in a DSLR, but I need microSD cards more for other uses, like emulating old games haha.

Yeah one of the reasons I got Micro instead of regular was that my Nintendo Switch could use them.

Off to Maui on Friday for 9 days. My second trip. Any suggestions, besides the obvious, like Haleakala?

Get down on the beach with a polarizer filter or ND filter and have some fun.

There are lots of little parts on that island for good photography. Don't miss any of the bigger water falls. You will need that ND filter. I need to go dig out my notes from our trip to Hawaii and what we did not Maui.

I would spend at least 2 days on Kauai. It's not crowded and I took so many pictures on that island. Island hoping 8 years ago was only $100, probably more but it was worth it.

Maybe I haven't told this story yet, but my dad once got a screaming deal on a Sony T9 point and shoot in Hong Kong, so my uncle bought it for him. Too bad the camera's firmware was all in Japanese. It still takes great 6 mp photos and it's impressively small for the time. Still can't understand a thing about the menu system.
